97 GSR Computer Problem
Hey,
Is there anyone in SE CT that has an obd2 GSR computer that I could try in my car?
I have replaced everything in the car, from the motor to the dist to the injectors, and my #3 cyl runs a lot hotter than the others.
My original motor died @ 135k, with a completely wooped #3 cyl, so thinking that a complete replacement would fix it I bought a nice new motor from H-motors. Well same thing is happening, and I just wanted to try a computer to see if maybe I have a harness problem before this one quits on me.
I have even tried swapping injectors from other cyl, and the same issue exists.
Thanks,
Adam

So you spent $3000+ on a new motor before eliminating possible problems?
Sounds like an injector isn't working, but you said you switched them around, and still not difference. Sounds like a problem in the harness. Check the injector harness and clips.

Do you know where the white wire on the injectors grounds?
Yes, lol, it's true, $3k and still have same problem, actually $2k since I did all work myself.
The motor had to be replaced and I need the car for day to day use.
The old motor was on it's way out when I noticed the spark plugs, and exhaust temps using an infrared thermometer. Keep in mind, no engine codes until the day it coughed the cylinder.
I checked the inj plugs, and measured voltage at the computer output and inj inout points, and they are spot on. Ofcourse voltage is not everything.
Thanks for response!

I did a voltage check at the computer output and injector clip and they are dead on.
There is obviously more to it than voltage, but a regulator multimeter won't see the pulses.
