i just did the conversion and it sucks. Cant even tell the difference. Im not sure if it has something to do with the bulbs i used. I got some 100 wat bulbs.
What bulbs did you guys use and how did it turn out. I dont want no rice blue bulb i just wanted them at least noticibly brighter.

oh man when I went from regular 51W 9006 to 60W 9005, the difference was HUGE, 70% more luminous output. Did you use some 100W blue bulbs or something? Try converting some 60W 9005 Cool Blue bulbs and then put one in one side, and a stock 9006 in the other side. If you can't see the difference you are blind
j/k but really it is a huge difference.

I went from stock 9006 to some shitty "blue" looking 80w 9006 then did the 9005 silverstar conversion. The light is definetly much brighter than my stock and more white and I think it covers more area too, for $40 it's a great upgrade if you have stock.

how can that be? u used 60watt 9005 and could tell a big difference- I used a 100 watt 9006 bulb. Basically i did only install one side to check out the difference and looks just a tad bit whiter to me.
Maybe its the bulb im using. i got these 4 dollar bulbs from summit. Maybe try pepboys?
Nope the lights are clean.
what other bulbs have u guys used. bsq was the one who helped me...i forget what bulbs he used.

Did you say you used 100W 9006 bulbs? 9006 bulbs have a cap on the end of the bulb, while 9005 does not. I think this is partly the reason for the increase in light.

I did the 9005 conversion with Sylvania Silverstars. IMO the light output is much better than the 9006 stock bulbs. I'm glad I did the conversion.
I did the SilverStar 9005 conversion a month or so ago and I love it. They are probably the brightest lights out there (excluding HID's). I used to have those crap 80watt blue bulbs that claim they look like HID's, but that's a load of crap. Also I actually saw more light on the ground with the stock lights then I did with the blue ones. When I drive at night now, my headlights overpower everyone elses lights (excluding HIDs). After having three or so different aftermarket headlights, the SilverStars 9005 defenitly are the whitest and brightest halogen bulbs out there. I recommend the conversion to everyone!!
it might be those $4 bulbs.. or maybe you need to adjust or clean your headlamps.. I noticed an improvement when I used the Sylvania Silverstars... dunnoz.. or maybe your expectations were too high.. its not HID bright.. but its an improvement...
