If you're stock, don't even worry about which one to get, it's not really going to make a huge difference either way.
its not stock 21/2 inch custom exhaust , ported im port matched tb cai and i have a shitty header on there so iwanna get a new one

... It still won't matter. Trust me.
Just get a $150 Megan Racing header, and you'll be fine.

I put a 4-1 on my 91 b18a and it fits fine..I don't know what the other guy was talkin about but it gave me a bit more punch and sounded alot better.

Since sound means POWER! YEAH!
Reread my posts. I said it doesn't matter if he gets a 4-2-1 or a 4-1, because he has nothing substantial done, and he won't be able to tell the difference between the two.

i just hear that it would be better with 4-1 i have a 4-2-1 on there now and i have to keep making a gasket for it and im tired of that ****....didnt keep up with the header...u know tightening the bolts and stuff so it blew the lower gasket and that gasket material from autozone sucks so im prolly gunna go with the 4-1 ...also so it will match with the 2 1/2 inch exhaust
yea i wanna go with a test pipe tho

I just have mine 2,1/2" straight pipe all the way out to a dual one-sided exhaust. No cat or muffler and its sounds real nice. and i'm not sayin sounds means power. but no one really likes a car that doesn't sound good.

Don't get overly caught up in the tubing configuration, and instead focus on selecting the best header you can afford. A well-designed 4-1 will outperform a poorly-designed 4-2-1, and vice versa.

4-2-1 is better suited for the midrange of the b18a, instead of having to make new gaskets for a shitty header, get a good 4-2-1

i had both 4-1-4-2-1 i liked both with the 4-1 i was running a 95 ls head/cams/im/tb and it had lots of top end as for the 4-2-1 stock everything had real nice mid end

Are you saying that all you have is header-test pipe-piping to the exit, with absolutely nothing to muffle any sound at all??? Somehow I doubt that sounds too good and is probably extremely too loud. Put at least a hi flow cat on it and get at least a muffler and I'm sure it will sound a lot better.

new question..... test pipe or high flow cat which is better?....does a b18a run better with that bak pressure from the cat or does it matter.....i hear with pressure u have low end and with no pressure u lose low end and gain high does that have sum truth to it...or was i bsed...it sounds like it makes sence to me....haha i just wanna get my exhaust done all the way the right way ...the safe way....the midas way ......hahaha
