Default 2001 Integra Driver Window

I bought a 2001 Integra, the seller was not sure if the window switch was bad or if the motor on that side is bad.

I can lower down the passenger side, but I cannot lower the driver side. How can I figure out if it is the switch or the window motor. I do not want to buy both and spend the extra money.

Thanks in advance

FIRST make sure the wiring is intact. for the price of a switch at a junk yard and simplicity of swapping them why not try ?

Remove the door panel, key on, use a test light at the connector to the motor. Activate the switch, and check for power at the connector. If you have power at the connector, the switch is good.

Power windows in our cars are "Polarity Reversing, Ground at Rest"

The system can be tested with a 12V test light...

Remove door panel, test for grounds at the motor leads, red/blue and red/yellow, [can be done at the switch].

If both leads test as grounds, [as they should] test the yellow/white for power, [fuse 11-20A, hot in run and start.

If you have power at the switch, [yellow/white] connect the test light to the red/blue and red/yellow, the test light ground to one lead and the probe to the other lead, [it makes no diff. which way you connect] .

Turn ign. on and rock the window switch for up and down, if the test light lights up both ways, the switch is good and the motor or wiring to it is the problem, if the test light does not light up in both directions, the switch is the problem. 94
