have any of you guys either bought or looked at completely gone through integras? i just listed mine for sale the other day and have had a bunch of trade offers. seems like a lot of folks into these cars are broke. have the oddest feeling i'm going to be selling the car on ebay to an out of state buyer OR parting it out. car would part for about 8k maybe 8.5k which is 1-1.5k over what i'm asking for it as a whole.
curious about the opinion of others since others are who will be my buyers

That car is beautiful and clean, well put together. I would throw down your asking price without a doubt, but... Like you said people are cheap.

As long as everything is well documented that's a very fair asking price imo. I'd pay 6-6.5k.

Only problem your going to have is most places wont finance that much for that year. So that means alot of people are going to have to come out of pocket for it and 98% of people right now dont have that much cash You might be better parting it out I hate to say but through stock stuff back into the car and sell it stock I bet you could get like 4K for it

this is exactly the problem i am facing. i need a cash buyer and while easy to find if you have a vette, 370z or the like, somewhat hard with an integraOriginally Posted by Hidenplanvew

i'll actually make more than 7k if i part the car, just am kind of hoping i don't have to tear it apart again. lot of hours and labor along with multiple small sales. all depends on if a buyer comes for the swap before one comes for the whole car.

If I had 7K, like most people, I would get something else. Fact of the matter are that Integra's or Honda's even, are Cheap.

In my opinion with any car, no matter how much money and time you put into modifying a car, you won't get the same amount back.

it's not even about that. it's about selling a car below part out value as it is. at 7k i'm getting back maybe .50 on the dollarOriginally Posted by cannouu

if i sell the car in parts it will net about 8000-8500
if i sell as a whole i'm not going under 7000
would prefer not to have to spend weeks taking the car apart but i'm not giving it away.
swap would go for 4000
koni gc $500-600
wheels & tires $600
i'm 99% sure the buyer will be someone who's seasoned, probably owned multiple hondas and realizes what a good deal it is for what they are getting.
i mean, a stock gsr will fetch 4000-5000 and i think that's overpriced. you have shot bushings, tiny brakes, shot shocks, tons of miles on the engine, god knows what compression. "all stock" usually means "totally worn out" when you're talking about 15yr old cars

what? you look around at 7k cars lately? lot of high mile uncared for junk. if i wasn't planning on putting 10k with this to get a late C5 i'd keep it. there's absolutely nothing at this price range i have ever seen that will touch this car. show me something for 7k that pulls 1g on the skidpad and gets 30mpg

I'm sure there's someone out there willing to pay that much for it, patience is the key. Or you could just part it out but that might take longer.

probably going to put the car on ebay in a month or so and go national. had to do the same thing with my last corvette {which was also a track monster}

Sorry to see you are selling your teg. I almost did the same but ended up trading in my dd for an s2000 and kept my teg. I dont know what it is about them but I cant see myself without it. Hope all goes well with your sale.
i'm actually considering an s2k. kind of leaning on the vette more for performance but i absolutely LOVE driving the s2k. very fun car to drive in 3 season weather.

Throw it on eBay. Round here, it'd have to be AWD to get that price... just sayin. I like it and if I was more of a Honda fan I'd pay that no problem.

Yea i know what you are going thru. I was looking at a vette, 350 and the S2000. I went with the S2000 becuase it gets the best gas mileage out of the 3 and i do alot of driving.
People with disposeable money are spending it on other cars nowadays (e.g. Subarus, Evos, 350Zs, and luxury coupes). So you're going to get mostly broke people or specialty buyers, both of whom are going to be more interested in trades.
I'd buy your car, except I just found out I'm going to Reno, and I won't be able to register that JDM engine you have in there.

This is a reasonable price even over here in new zealand. where its jdm up the ringer and plenty of type r's over here.
plus the labour involved doin the swap..
dont know what law's are like there. but if anythink that is stock then changed, example mcpherson strut to coil over's. has to go to VTNZ (vehicle testing new zealand) to get certified where they extensivly go over every aspect of the car from seatbelt's to engines to bushes.
which isnt cheap an can be a big player in overall price.
my DC1 b18c swaped integra is worth $1500 top's becouse it is not "certed"
but certed could be betwen 3k and 4k. A certification cost $450 btw.
i would not lower the price..
but imo unless race spec, money spent to end profit.. you loose big time

ahh...yea, probably would be too much work to convert over. my friend bryan is running a jdm motor in vegas BUT, you have to do the usdm conversion which realistically would run about $600-700 Originally Posted by GagnarTheUnruly

1. p73-a02 ecu $250
2. usdm oil pump $120
3. usdm crank sprocket {i have}
4. cfs sensor {i have}
5. evap solenoid $120
6. usdm vtec solenoid $50-80 {used}
7. usdm lower timing cover $40
that would have to be done and you MIGHT have to punch a 5 in the block. so far bryan has had no problem with his jdm engine but i did this conversion above when he was in oregon so there would be no problems with emissions scanning

oddly enough i haven't had anyone price argue with me...which i was somewhat surprised about. people can pretty much add up what's on the car and realize their money is backed by parts value. what i have found is that a lot of guys simply don't have 7k in their checking account LOL Originally Posted by standy xsi

have been getting a lot of texts though so i'm sure before too long it will go. i'm in no hurry really. if it sells before christmas that would be just fine. i need to save another 4-5k before i have enough for 2001+ corvette with under 50k or possibly a s2000. more or less ruled out 350z's since they have no storage room. get worse mpg than the corvette and happen to be slower to boot. i also like the resale aspect of both the corvette and s2k. each has a loyal following and are very solid cars.
