I got a lot of stuff done on my motor and chassis this week and felt I should post some of it. I don't know if it is the surprise that some of you were hoping for but I feel like it is great progress for me...
First, the block used to be gold and since I sprayed the car over, gold was not going to be working very well with the new theme. I stripped all the old paint off and cleaned the crap out of the motor. Took me a while to do and also got very light headed from all the carb cleaner.
old block color:

New block color:

After I finished painting, I got the block and head mated together...

I degreed the cams myself and they fell well into my safe zone on the v2v chart I had made. DNR came over to double check my work
...

A few days later, I had finally received my ARP wheel studs so I decided to put them on my dc2 knuckles.

I got the knuckles on the car and removed the fenders n bumper... Don't get any ideas about the front end folks...

It's been hella long since the car has been on the ground...

Mock-up of the RBC manifold on the head:

Mock-up of the SKunk2 Manifold on the head:

and throttle body angle, I don't like how close the fan switch is to the TB so I will have to do something about that:

This is the intake manifold side of the head, the npt fitting and the base area cause the intake manifold to sit lopsided thus creating a vacuum leak so I had to trim it down.

before:

after:

Got my Golden eagle sandwich plate, using it to mount my oil pressure gauge sending unit...

Finally the motor is on the ground and ready for a transmission.

And the grand finale of this update!!!

It's been over a year since my EG has had a motor in it but its finally back. The setup is completely new and should push more hp than last time. I'm not going to jinx myself so we will have to wait and see what kinda numbers the motor puts out... Keep an eye out for some major updates soon...
btw, can you guess what will go in this spot
?

thanks for looking

something like -3, +3, around there... We are still going to play with them on the dyno to extract peak power though...
nice update. What mounts are you using? Look like HASports.
Its been so long... are you able to close your hood all the way? or do you have the spacer set up in the rear?
btw.. nice CRX in the background.

The mounts are hasports with the stiffest bushing I could get at the moment. I believe they are the 88 bushings, i forget. =\
When i dropped the motor in, i put some clay on the valve cover to see how much clearance I had and it doesn't really look too good, =\
I do have the hood hinges spaced but I think I am going to have to trim my hoods skeleton a bit. I'm going to hit up the QSD guys cause they make some "hood poppie thingies" and see if they work out for my setup...
It's been a while since that pic was taken and I have for sure had my work cut out for me, hahah. It's all good though cause it will be worth it in the end. I'm thinking I should have the wiring done by the end of the week so expect some more updates.
btw, the CRX belongs to my roommate Ryan from RyWire.com
It is definitely one of the best CRX's I have ever seen.

Good ****. I got mine on Wednesday. The thing looks badass! I'm going to take it over to Danny's later this week to see what he can do as far as making a 4-1 header bottum exit (as opposed to side exit) since the pan creates so much more clearance... The pickup location is off the hook too, I can't imagine having any oil starvation issues with this pan.
