?? Not sure what you mean but I got the Bisi cam gears because of the design. I don't like the color but the design is awesome. They are really beefy and have a special locking design that doesn't allow slipping. I don't' want to spend all this money and have something like cam gears blow everything up.

I got a little work done on the car today so I thought I would share. I was supposed to be doing HW but I wanted to get the LCA's and new hardware on the car instead haha. Here are some pics.
Fresh new hardware I picked up this weekend in LA.

Still need to adjust the Hood Latch but this is for now...

Fresh New parts!

Bring Bring Baby!!!

Before: (notice the cups of the suspension)

After:

Finally the car isn't so low in the rear. I did the whole conversion back to EG/DC LCA's because the ITR LCA's were making the car too low in the rear.

Gangsta stance in the rear of the car now! haha (Face down, *** up! haha)

I think the next update will be some engine work. I am going to degree the cams this Friday if everything goes right... :Crossing Fingers:

Finally the weekend! I was stressin out today cause I got of work kinda late. I was supposed to go to DNR Performance and work on my motor. Dave Nguyen was going to degree my cams for me and I was going to install all of my new goodies as well.
Well, I talked to Dave and he said he wasn't going to be at the shop very late so he offered to just roll to my house instead. To make a long story short, since it was so late when I got off work, he came over and setup the motor to to degree the cams. We will be finishing up Saturday afternoon...
Here are some pics so far.
The new parts going in:

DNR working on the motor while DSRxLoreto and DSRxGoompa be themselves...

Almost ready to degree the cams!!

A close up shot of the new Camgears:

And the garage with everything put away again...

Tomorrow we get to setup the whole head. I have to install the new valve seals, spring bases, and valve train, WOOHOO! haha...

So today was a success and a fail all at the same time. DNR came over and we started to work on the motor. Good news is that we got the cams degreed in. Bad news, we had to take the head off the motor because my first cylinder exhaust valve bent like crazy. Here are some pix...
We started the night like this:

and as soon as the cams were degreed, I started to remove valve seals to replace them. I noticed that the very first exhaust valve on the 1st cylinder was not closing all the way. Kinda weird but whatever. So we decided to remove the head from the block and ended up with this:

A shot of the shiny CP pistons:

The Hella bent valve (left
):

I decided to not stop working on the head. The Skunk valve train came with a new bottom retainer which has to be installed before you swap valve seals so I got that taken care of.
Out with the old:

Skunk2 Base Retainers:

In with the new (Skunk2 Valve Spring Base retainers and Supertech Viton Valve seals:

The head is done for now, I gotta see if Supertech will sell me one exhaust valve:

The end, for now:

Monday might be the next day I can get to Supertech to swap out the valve, hopefully they can help me out otherwise I'll have to see what I can do. Til the next update folks!

Thanks. I think the valve bent while we were degreeing the cams. I didn't have any valve springs in the head so the valves were able to go up and down all the way freely.
I think what happened is the valve was down in the guide while the piston was coming up and smacked it when we set the crank to TDC... That's the only thing I can think of cause the valve stem is bent pretty far down. Usually the valve head section gets bent when a piston hits a valve during operation...
Anyway, however it bent, I gotta get a new valve on Monday...

Lol, I know. It's crazy but the amount of money spent on building a car adds up. I'm going on a year for being unemployed so that is the main reason the car is taking so long. Don't stress though, I am haulin *** for January, I got a bunch of goodies coming in...

So I went from 1 bent exhaust valve to 11 bent valves (5 intake, 6 exhaust). Sux that there were more bent valves.
The story goes like this: I went to Supertech today to buy one exhaust valve but I brought my all of valves with me. Since all of my valves were there he said he can have his engineer take a look at everything to make sure there are no other bent valves so I let him. Turns out 11 of my valves had been slightly bent. WTF! haha. By inspecting my valves, he said that they are experiencing excess wear on the head (where the rocker hits the valve stem). He said it could be from valve float of weak Valve Springs.
It just so happens that my valve springs were something like 6 years old. They also had a lot of high revving miles and a lot of street daily driven miles on them also. Guess they were shot for my setup...
Anyway, here are some pics.
Remainder of the good intake valves:

Remainder of the good exhaust valves:

The box of useless metal:

And the new stuff:

It's cool cause Martin at Supertech gave me a great price on the new valves so everything turned out cool. It just sucks that I had to spend anything in the first place. Oh well, nobody said racing was cheap...
I should get the valves in this week and also check the V2V clearances by Friday. Let's see how things go down!

Damn joon, that sucks man. Glad you got all that squared away! Just out of curiosity, I thought you couldn't go directly to Supertech and buy there products?
