The wheel well cleanup procedure continues folks!! I got some trim paint today and went to town on the wheel wells to see how it would look and I also aaaaaAAalmost got the last wheel well done. Take a look...
Battery tray sprayed with trim paint:

This is the front passenger side test to see how the paint looks in the wheel wells...

The driver rear wheel well is good to go so I primed it and got it ready for paint...

and here it is with the satin black paint...

Now the passenger side wheel well...

and I left the car like this today...

The spare tire wheel well is also going to get cleaned so this is what I got done on it today...

ewww yuck!!

I am going to go to the shop tomorrow for a few hours and finish the passenger side wheel well. I will also try to get the spare tire well done also. Let's see what happens...

Very close to done!! I got all the wheel wells cleaned up now. I just gotta finish the rear spare tub... Take a look!
Rear Passenger side:

First layer of primer.

Final coat of primer:

I finally finished all the other wheel well swith black paint. The paint seems cool cause i hit it with the pressure washer and it doesn't budge. That's my durability test. haha

The spare tire tub is a biatch because it has so much black tar on it. After several times of applying aircraft remover and shooting it off, I got this:

I only got a little bit of grinding done on it but it is going smoothly. I didn't spend a whole lot of time at the shop because I have class tonight... I'll be going back tomorrow and finishing the job...

Tomorrow is the final day that I will be going to the shop to do some work on my car. Damn I cant wait!!!

YES!!!! Finally, the wheel wells are done and so is the rear spare tire tub. Woohoo!!! hahah. The shop is going to finish the reset of the work so hopefully they smash on it and get it done next week or the week after. *crossing fingers*
Here are some pics of the finished product!
Cleaned and prepped spare tire tub:

Primered with some self etching primer:

Passenger side wheel well finally sprayed black!

Everything is painted!

And this is how I leave her. Naked!

The body shop owner said he will get it sanded down and prepped next week but he needs to know what fawkin color I am going with. I honestly don't have a clue yet so I am stressin.
I'll see what I come up with...

So its been a while since my last post but I haven't had many updates really. I went to the shop today and they did a little bit of work on it so I am somewhat happy. I wish they did more though. Supposedly they were lagging because I hadn't picked a color yet but I finally decided and let them know today. The cage is going to be a metallic silver while the body is going to be a custom Kandy Purple.
Here are the pics from today..
They moved the car from one side of the lot to the other. hahaha.

They got some welding done in the rear of the car. Back in the day, I drilled all the rear seat brackets out so there were wholes in the rear of my car. I wanted to make the car flush again and no leaks anywhere...

In all, they didn't do much at all. I am going back to the shop later this week because they promised me there would be some work done. I believe he is going to have the cage painted by Friday and also have some sanding work done on the car. I am on his *** everyday to get the damn car done already so lets see how it goes.

So an update for folks. I don't got any new pics but I might tomorrow. I'm going by the shop to drop of their color book.
I chose a color a couple weeks ago and I was sure it was going to be it. A few days after I chose the color, the bodyshop called me back and said House Of Kolors discontinued my candy top coat. I was pissed! It took me a friggin month to get that color and now I gotta do it again! man!!!
I am going back tomorrow to choose another color so I can finally get the car sprayed and back in time to get it ready for BOTI this summer...

Thanks bro. Hopefully I will get the color by tomorrow, I'll be heading to thes hop tomorrow to make the final decision. Lets see if they did any work on it yet. I doubt they did, hahah...
just looked through some of your work so far! I wished I would have had the time to do that to my car. I just do not have the time to do some of the work you have accomplished. Maybe next time around. Actually, Im kinda jealous! hahahaha....I wanted to strip the tar on the bottom of the car and stuff like that.
Nice project and good luck with it. Throw some Aerocatch hood latches on that mule!!!

If I could do it all over again, I would strip off all the tar on the underside of the chassis. Maybe next time...

to that & staying with it!

Haven't seen that color on too many cars before.
