Got some more work done today. Beaver, I tried your idea of using some chemicals. ahha... I used a whole can and a half of paint stripper today. Some **** made for enamels n stuff so I assumed it would rip it right off. Not so much the case but it helped a lot...
These were the tools of the day:

I sprayed the passenger side fender well and let it sit for 20 minutes or so.

I used the pressure washer to clean off all the paint stripper, didn't really feel like having it shoot at me off the wire wheel.

and the result was this:

After hitting the wheel well with the pressure washer, I went to work with the wire wheel and got it pretty clean. Still needs way more time at it...

While I let the paint stripper go to work on the passenger side, I used the wire wheel on the driver side. I pretty much alternated for a while going back and forth with the paint stripper, pressure washer, and wire wheel today.

Driver side is almost done already. I'll finish it all up Monday or Tuesday.
Near the end of the day, the shop owner, Raymond, brought out some aircraft remover for me to try out. Almost immediately it started really doing some damage to the seem sealer. I put some on the car before I left so by Monday the tar might be gone. hahahah. I have to see. I think I might just buy a can of Jasco or aircraft paint remover on the way back to the shop next week... Chemicals FTW!

I'm up early today so I thought I would post an update from yesterday. I got to the shop a little late but still got some work done. I was surprised to see that they used Monday to tear the chassis down further than it was already. They removed all the bolt in glass, moldings, weather striping, side mirrors, and fenders from the car. I was hella excited when I noticed they even finished the engine bay prep work!!
Anyway, here are some pics of progress..

You can see the original color even brighter under the side mirror and side moldings...

Some shots of the prep work in the engine bay.

After nutting over the fact that the car was worked on, I got to work with these guys.

I started laying a ton of paint stripper on the fender gunk on the front and rear fender wells. I tried to cake it on as much as I could because its no fun trying to scrape it off. I already know I'm going to end up havign to remove my rear suspension completely to finish cleaning the rear wells.
After laying on the paint stripper for 30-40 minutes, I started removing the body filler in the engine bay. That stuff came off easy with a wire wheel and my air grinder.

This spots harder to reach, I need to get a harder bristle cup style wire wheel and his this side up again.

Oh yea, this is my Persian Prince look with my girls Bebe glasses. I was bored and my GF felt like taking pics =P
I will be going back Thursday to finish cleaning up the engine bay and wheel wells. I got another side job I have to do. Gotta make some money to get more parts for my car ya know... I will throw up another update later this week... see ya'll next time.

I'm happy because I got hella done on the car. I just wanna say that Aircraft Paint Remover is the **** and very toxic!
Here are the pics already!
I had to turn the car around on the lift for easier access.

I got the engine bay done completely now. All the seam sealer I wanted to remove is gone!

I removed all the rear suspension from the car. Easier to get to the wheel well.

The drivers side wheel well is completely done! Finally!!!

I will be going back tomorrow morning around 10ish to finish up the pass side front wheel well and then get crackin on the rear as well... Lets see how it goes!

I'm proud of myself because I got so much done today!!! The two front wheel wells are done and all that remains is the rear of the car. The gunk is coming off easier now since the aircraft remover made it so soft. I also came up with a strategy for removing all the undercoating. Get all the large chunks off, and then clean it up with a wire wheel cup... Worked a lot better than my previous strategy, hahah.
Some pics of progress!!!

Tadaaaa!!!

I'm going back Monday to do another wheel well. Hopefully I get another wheel well done!

Man. I am normally a really impatient guy but I'm also matriculate. I started the job so I have to finish it and I have to be as detailed as possible when I do it.
Word of advice, don't start this project unless you are willing to invest at least 20 hrs and a lot of chemicals. hahah

I removed it to get rid of weight. I honestly should take the opportunity to seam weld the chassis but Don't got the time or the money right now...
As far as weight though, I don't think I'm removing much, but it makes me feel better about getting rid of something because the cage is going to be a killer!

o snap son, are you desi?
The progress is looking good man. Thats a lot of work to clean all that **** out, haha. Every time I'm under my car I wish I could do something like this though. These is so much tar and tuti under my car that it is ridiculous.

Haha, yea I'm Desi. What made you realize???
Yea all that caca under the car is frustrating to remove but finishing the front wheel wells was very worth it to me! I was super satisfied so the back should go quick. Besides, It is coming off a lot faster with a air grinder and encapsulated wire wheel...

you can get aircraft remover from walmart, kragens, autozone...they come in a gallon or qt of liquid...or in a spray aerosol. if i remember correctly..i think it ranges about 6-15 depending on how much you get.
