Another update!!!
So I didn't get any time today to work on the wire harness because Danny Tran asked me to come to the shop and help him out with my cage. Not that he can't work on it himself, he is busy and needed me to run around and pick up some metal for him and do all the little BS, like prep the car and get the base plates ready. We are still waiting on the tubes for the cage but I got as much done as I could. I'm going back again tomorrow to help with the cage.
Here are some pics to hold everyone's attention for another night.

Danny taking some time to show me how to drill the plates...

and the rest of the plates I gotta drill...

Plate #1 almost done.

Tadaaaa. 8 Plates done...

Lets get crackin on the inside of the car.

The inside of the car is done, for today.

The rear plates are going to be welded into the car, saved that for tomorrow.

And while I was doing all of this, Danny was playing with his wiener.
Oh I mean working on a header. haha

Another day, another update. haha... I didn't get a whole ton done today. I went to SSR and he got the tubes for my cage kinda late in the day so he will start bending and cutting everything on Monday or Tuesday.
All I did today was bolt up the plates to the chassis and grind down the trunk area for the rear plates. I also did some grinding on some other misc stuff so feel free to take a look.
I didn't take many pics today because I had to hurry up and get back to the house. SSR is about 30 minutes away from my house but about 45-50 minutes away with traffic. I spent more time at ACE Hardware than working on the car.

The inside of the car after all 4 plates were bolted in.

The trunk area after some grinding... The extra holes in the spare tire well are from a battery box I ran when my car was still white, 4 or more years ago. I had covered the holes with bondo because water would always get in the car when I drove around and after a while, the bondo got deformed from day to day heat. I'm going to have Danny just weld the holes closed.

and here are a couple random shots of Danny welding...

I should have some pics coming Monday or Tuesday of either the wire harness or roll cage. Damn this Valentines day! haha

Yea, I was trippin off that too. Danny said that it is better to do it this way because the floor is too thin to really support the cage. He said it is like welding a book to a piece of paper. haha. I like that analogy.
The way he had me put everything in is a plate on tip, and a plate on bottom, and then they sandwich the floor panel. Learn new things everyday.

Well I got a minor update for today. I didn't go to SSR today to check on the car but I did work on the wire harness. I also decided to tuck the alternator wires. It will make it easier to take off the valve cover, if I ever needed to.
I took the alternator wires completely out of the motor harness, for now.

Looks like there are hardly any wires behind the motor anymore...

This is the tranny side of the harness before any work done.

After, nice and tucked.

I'll be doing more work tomorrow. I need to get my hands on some Raycam or Rycam Mil Spec wire cover. I'll see what I can source tomorrow... anyone got any suggestions?

I got a lot of wiring done today. I'm trying to get as much done without the EG here but it gets tough. Staring at wires for the whole day makes you blind also.
I started the day by striping the main harness from tape and all the other gunk...

Then I started to remove all kinds of stuff from the harness, like the horn and some random relays that will never be used...

Popped everything off the fuse box and set it aside for now...

Some more connectors I chopped out.

For the next step, I had to bust out with some stuff from the closet.

I jacked a couple plugs from this guy...

The result was:

I used the connectors to separate the ecu/engine harness from the rest of the main harness. THIS **** TOOK FOREVER TO SEPARATE!!!

That's all I got done for today. Tiny *** mods that take forever, especially since I have to make sure to look in my ETM to make sure I am ok to remove certain wires from the harness.

Its crazy how fast the pile of excess dookie get so big.

This is the jungle I gotta work with next time. I am deleting these connectors and shortening the ECU side of the harness to make everything nice n neat.

Tomorrow I'm helping my homie Goompa yank his motor out of his h2b 97 coupe. I'm probably not going to get any work done on my wiring but I will see wussup. Maybe Danny will have some progress on my cage. Let's see...
