Default Service Manual wrong??

In the service manual in section 8-24 the picture contradicts what it tells you to do when lining up these marks. Can someone explain this to me? I redid my timing last night and went by the picture and not what it actually says to do. Is this a misprint?

Thanks
Joe

remember there are four strokes to the cycle, you can be 180 degrees off, you cams may have in fact been degree-ed. you need to clarify your question a bit more
