Re: Integra SWAP LS to GSR
To start with, it's VTEC and honda-tech.com, Honda/Acura does not make a v-tech engine, not trying to be a dickwad, just info that will keep the flames away.
You can swap just about any engine into your car, replacing an identical one will be the easiest, obviously. The B18C1 engine was found in the 94-2001 Integra GS-R, your 91 Integra is OBD0 92-95 will be OBD1 96 up will be OBD2, 2a and 2b. I would stick with OBD1 to keep things as simple as possible. 94 |
Re: Integra SWAP LS to GSR
Whoever told you a B18c1 would not work is an idiot. It's a direct bolt in.
And the only problem with LSVTEC's are the people that build them. If you cut corners or are a halfass engine builder, of course there are going to be problems, but if you do it right, it's just as reliable as a stock GSR. IMO you don't seem mechanically inclined enough to do an LSVTEC, so just do a B18c1 drop in. |

Re: Integra SWAP LS to GSR
Thanks guys for the Info....It is going to be very helpful in helping me make my decision....I think I wana go LsVtec.....plus I just picked up a ls transmisson for it....PICS to come soon....I recently changed the carpet out from tan to black.....I replaced the tan (very filthy looking) door panels with used (Very good looking) black ones and did the DA remix on the entire interior....it has dark Blue leather GSR seats front and rear.......

Re: Integra SWAP LS to GSR
Go for it
I built an lsvtec a few years ago without much knowledge. The bigger leaps you take the more you learn! It is possible with enough researching, there are many good threads out there Was going to say, u can find an obd0 b16 that is a direct bolt on, but I'd say finding a 94-95 gsr motor would be simplest. |
Re: Integra SWAP LS to GSR
You picked up an LS trans? Do you not know you already have an LS trans in your teg?!?!?

Re: Integra SWAP LS to GSR
I know this thread is from a few months ago but I got a 92 LS, and if i were to do the same swap (b18c1 gsr) what additional parts would you need?
Also what would i need a conversion if i keep the stock ls trans? thanks any help would be great or if anyone can direct me to a guide i've been trying to search but I can't find any |

Also what would i need a conversion if i keep the stock ls trans? thanks any help would be great or if anyone can direct me to a guide i've been trying to search but I can't find any for the EZ install find a 94-95 OBDI GS-R with uncut engine harness and P72 ECU if you cant find one with a good engine harness or you end up with a OBDII motor just use your harness and add the needed wires. you will also need to swap the injectors as i think the clips are not the same and the dissy will need a connector swap or you can get a New OBDI dissy for a GSR now the throttle cable on the GS-R is longer. and from what the interchange system says it's the same as a 92~93 GSR and is a direct fit for the car a B trans fit's any B block engine just remember to get a clutch kit for the year and model of the trans you have. now the ls ECU harness may or may Not have the wires for the Vtec and or the Knock sensor and IAB's ether way you will still not have a ELD (electronic load detector) now you have some options you can do here you can add the pins to the current connectors (my choice i'll add pix) or swap out the ECU harness for one from a 94~95 GSR if you do this it's all of three wires you cut and reconnect but it's hard to find one. i suggest the pin adding method cuz you can add the wires for the ELD at the same time and you will need to pull a ELD from a 94+ integra or civic. Link to install ELD:https://honda-tech.com/forums/acura-integra-6/91-da-codes-20-23-a-3025580/ if you don't want the Knock sensor and ELD you will have to Chip the ECU.
