how to stake axle nut
just curious-
how do you stake your axle nut? I tried a flathead but it ended up going right through the metal on the nut. Im thinking a blunt tool would be more efficient. How do you stake your nuts? https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emsmilep.gif |

i just smack it with a ball peen hammer and put the cotter pin in.
the cotter is the key |
Re: how to stake axle nut (B18EG6)
A reasonable big sears screwdriver, and a little persuasion from a hammer. It does not take much.

Re: how to stake axle nut (BigMoose)
i just give it a few taps with the hammer so it dents in alittle. i hate when people hammer the shit out of them. it makes it a total bitch to take off later.

Use a punch that is the width of the indent on the axle and hammer it in https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif
