My gsr waste too much gas...wtf why??
 

I had put gas and filled up to a lil less of half a tank. This was on sunday night. Took it back home. and then used it on monday at 5 to go to work work is about 25 minutes away and i take the freeway all the way, and then drove up the long road. I do this everyday and i DONT punch it i drive normal only like one time that ill punch it but just first gear. Now today tuesday the needle is almost at empty.WHY is may carrito wasting too much gas? https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emsad.gif

i had a 94 rs, i got roughly 370 miles/tank.

Quantitative info needed. Considering gas is 2 bucks a gallon and you filled it a little under half, you may have put in 6 gallons if that much. You didnt' tell us how many miles it is to work and how many gallons you put in the car. Have you performed a tune up lately?

fill your tank up and tell me how many miles you get out of it, I get 300.

what are your mods to your car and how many miles on your motor? When was your last oil and filter change, when were your injectors cleaned? Factory fuel pressure regulator? is it working properly? Do you smell excess gas? When was the last time you changed your fuel filter? Try changing it.

shit, i get 220 MAX on 10 gallons average. i'd love to at least get 260-275. 94 gsr.

I just refilled my car...

94-gsr fresh rebuilt motor 9:1 compression got me 281miles for like 10 gallons of gas.

Is this normal?

do a tune up! I just did one on my car, and my gas mileage improved greatly

my gsr was getting about 330/tank with no o2 sensor and when i put my o2 sensor in i started only getting 280/tank anyone know why that is?

I did on oil change, replaced cap/rotor, Plugs and indexed them, timing belt, water pump, anything else I need??

How is your compression? Any CEL? Your O2 sensor could go bad and throw your gas milage way off.

around town i get about 225 to a tank.. last trip i took.. i got about 345..
i have a gsr with 118xxx miles.. havent changed the spark plugs since i have owned the car.. i bought it with 106xxx time for a spark plug change and fuel treatment

Need to check compression agaain. No Cel lights at all. Then again, my car has 292,000 miles on original Cat/O2 sensor. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emsmilep.gif

yeah i get about 280 to 320 a full tank on super unleaded depending on how i drive, nothing like listening to vtec kick in=)

95 Gsr With CTR Pistons and Stage 2 cams and I can go 280 to 300 on a full tank. Sometimes the needle doesn't read accurate don't judge it by that. Mine will move slow then fast then slow around half and then fast to 1/4 and then stay on E for a while. It is wierd but I always clear my mileage to check.

It varies most of the time it is around 4000 rpm but sometimes 8000 whatever I'm feeling.

u need to get a new cat and o2, then a tune up, run some injecter cleaner through it, and don't give it hell... also it seems to me u only got about 3 or 4 gallons in it which isn't much..plus u said a 25 min commute one way so thats another 25 back, think about it.

I have a 99 LS just swapped into a 5 spd (Best mod ever), everything else is stock. I fill my baby up Aprox 9 gallons of (87 - Cheapest) and it gives me Aprox 240 miles. is that ok, or is it low? if it is low what could be causing it? Mind you I just had the car tuned-up 2 weeks ago!

i'm getting 280-300/tank on my stock gsr.....i have a CEL since my secondary o2 isn't plugged in. Time for a tune up man

last time i filled up, i went 310 miles on a 10 gallon fill up. i'm pushin 180k miles.

About ur car though, u said u filled up a little under the half way mark. I've noticed that the gas needle is not linear, so it goes to E faster from half way than it does going from full to half. do you remember how many gallons you filled up with? and how many miles you might have driven? there might not even be a problem

well lets see, the owner that had it before me had done a tune up in november.
Current mods as for right now are a K&N filter, Exedy St. 1 clutch and 12lbs flywheel. When I got it I did a fuel injection service cleaner, and cleaned out the throttle body with some b12. On sunday i put 10 dollars of gas which down here gas is at 2.24 for premium gas, but i dont really check the gallons and stuff I know i should start keeping count from now on. But damn i can be driving slow and then i punch it for a fun pull and see the gas needle and it goes down Im like wtf. What im thinking is maybe the fuel lines or something i dont know.
