This swap would use an OBD1 to OBD2 harness. Does anybody know if there are issues with this setup?

I am wondering the same thing.Since the VX and the HX are the same basic ****, I would assume it would swap over with a OBDII -OBDI conversion harness.

i can't see why it wouldn't work...talk to Civic Hx-T he knows more than you can imagine about the HX

I'm not so sure why you would need an obd-2 harness unless you want to use the obd2 ECu with it.

But then you'd have to have the obd2 parts.. distributor.. etc.

I'd say, nix all the five wire garbage and try my p28 theory. =D

5 wire is good if you want to retain that ultra lean fuel economy...

I want to try it BUT that is an exspensive experiment. Having to buy the ECU, only to have it not work and then be stuck with a $120 paperweight that will sit in the classifieds for awhile until I lower the price to a lowball range....

I agree. The way I look at it is, I already have the vx computer. If I am going to do the swap anyway, then I will try it with the vx computer first and go from there. Experimenting is cool if you got the cash. But, if I had the cash, then I wouldn't be in a 12 year old car with a dying engine.

the OBD2 to OBD1 conversion would only be needed if your car is OBD2.
I had a guy with HX with a bad ECU running my P07 for a while. There wasn't any problems other than it was OBD1 and he wanted to stay as stock as possable. But he didn't run it that long and we didn't have access to anything to make sure it wasn't too lean or too rich. He said fuel mileage seemed like it was the same and the car drove the same.

if you need a VX ECU let me know, I'd be happy to loan it to you to make sure it works. If you'd want to keep it we can work something out, it's not worth much.

Man, that is quite generous of you, but I already have the vx ecu. Thanks, though.

I actually own a 92 vx, so I have the p07 ecu. I was under the impression that to put an obd2 motor into my car, an OBD1, I would need that harness. It is good to hear it works.

the OBD2 motor can link up to the OBD1 wire harness in the car. (with a few modifications) so the P07 ECU would be plug and play. but the HX ECU (P2N) wouldn't work with the car's harness without additional sensors in the car, several modifications to the wire harness and of course the OBD2 plugs.
