Feedback on TYC EG Headlight...not the 1 piece projector
Wanted to see if anyone had the TYC headlight they offer. Not the 1 piece projector that everyone else has, but the stock replacement one. I did a whole site search and everyone only brings up the projector one. I was curious how the light output, fitment, quality, and how they look on the car. Any photos would be very helpful. I was thinkin of painting them so they are black housing also if I got them.
I'd post this in the Apearance Forum, but EG's are the only car that have this type of light offered...so I figured I'd have a better shot for a response here...plus there is some tech relavince to this.

Re: Feedback on TYC EG Headlight...not the 1 piece projector (H23 EG Hybrid)
I don't have one but I've seen one on a hatch. Looks cool! nice fitment.
And the light output, a lot better than stock/jdm even with 55/65W bulbs.
I'm not sure how long it will stay clear. They first made it for 93-96 corollas and it easily gets blurred or the lens turns yellowish.
If I saw on Id get one for my hatch!

If you buy it seal it w/clear silicon from advanced auto. They look great but don't take the chances for them to get condensation in them. I have black housing set. Looks money $$$

Well, I bought them with the black housing and they are great! Only thing that sucks it's made of glass and attracts scratches easily.
I have HID's w/ the casper shields and the lighting is great! No glare what so ever.

Thnx for the replys and feedback guys. I will be buying them today now that I've seen the good reviews. It's also good that some of you brought up HID's...cause that was another question I had and for got to post it. And the fact that someone had pics on a white EG...added bonus since I have one myself.
Thnx again...keep the pics and feedback coming, could make this a good review and photo page for people lookin for these headlights.

Re: (H23 EG Hybrid)
I'm glad you brought this up. I really like how they look so I'm going to pick some up. One question though, are they street legal? Are headlights regulated?

This was takin off the TYC site:
Before a TYC product is shipped out, it has undergone tons of testing to ensure that a quality product reaches the hands of the consumer. Testing during development and design stages ensures that fitment is absolutely perfect. Photometric testing ensures that the lamp complies to SAE/DOT regulations. Simulated rain, shock, humidity, and bulb life tests are conducted to ensure durability and reliability during extreme whether conditions. Transit testing ensures that the lamps have adequate protection from shipping damage, reaching the end-user in pristine condition. All of these tests aredone in-house at TYC, with the most up-to-date facilities.
There is a report you can download on the pages where the lights are shown, but the site is down. As far as I know...all TYC lighting equipment are DOT and SAE approved. So yeah...it's street legal.

I read the product page...but it didn't sound like it works on glass. None the less a good product it sounds. I have the Meguire's plastic trim restore stuff...works hella good...you just have to keep reapplying it when you start using it to keep the color rich.

Re: (sdsviet)
Do you have the same ones that are pictured above? When did you buy them if so? I'm hoping they are glass...don't want them to turn yellow on me. Usually TYC is pretty good quallity stuff.

Ok..
I've been told these have the holes for city lights..
before i purchase these i would like to know if anyone knows what size bulb goes in the city light hole..recently i did the DIY city lights and i used a socket that uses a 194 bulb.
Anyone have information / pics they can post
*Also does anyone know where to buy the yellow 194 bulbs for city lights i've looked several places.

Re: Feedback on TYC EG Headlight...not the 1 piece projector (bonta-kun)
For everyone posting pictures of these on their vehicle you do realize these are not the same headlights that were originally posted at the beginning of the thread. The headlights pictured on the two cars posted are the procarparts.com headlights. The procarparts.com headlights have the spot for the city light as the one originally posted do not.
These are the ones that have been pictured by the two members above, here:
these are also the ones with the city light holes.
