SRS light reset without dealer??
I have a 00'v6 coupe my srs light came off when I installed new gauges. I want to reset it without going to the dealer. Anyone know how, thanks.

Are you sure that will clear the codes? I thought you had to screw around with the MES connector to clear SRS codes.

hurriedly pages through Helms
edit: you are correct. you have to jumper the MES connector, and go through a series of plug and unplug. It also specifically states to use the SCS connector and NOT a jumper wire. Any particular reason?

I can't find it , but someone here has a link to the MES procedure. Maybe they will post it, it's too much for me to type.

My good deed for the year, Santy Clause is coming so I'd better be good and kiss *** and maybe he'll bring me a hairdryer to replace my headers
straight outta the helms
Erasing the DTC memory
1)turn ignition switch off
2)connect the scs service connector to the MES connector. Do not use a jumper wire
3)turn igition switch to on
4)The SRS indicator light will come on for about 6 seconds, and then go off. Remove the SCS service connector from the MES connector within 4 seconds after the light comes on
5)The SRS indicator will come on again. Reconnect the SCS service conector to the MES connectoer within 4 seconds after the light comes on.
6)When the SRS indicator light goes off, remove the SCS service connector from the MES connector within 4 seconds.
7)The SRS indicator light will blink 2 times indicating that the memory has been errased
8)turn the ignition switch to off and wait for 10 seconds.
I know what your thinking. WTF is the MES connector? good question. maybe someody with a digi-cam can take a pic and post it. its up under the steering wheel. Above and behind the scan tool connector (where you jumper it to get CEL codes)
