HAVING TROUBLE--04 CIVIC LX--RADIO!!!!
What up people..I'm havin trouble with the radio on my 04 Civic LX..I dont have a drivers manual for it..I don't know why. I haven't had the car on for a while...But when I cut it back on, the radio says "CODE"..I guess you only get 10 tries..and I just end up tryin everything possible (a.k.a. hitting buttons)...So I was wondering how do you set the code for that..??
Anyways please get at me..I just wanna blast my music..Thanks again!

should've came in a white card with your car, if not. you'll have to pay honda to take out the deck, find the serial# and get the correct code for that specific serial#. there's no generic code.
it's probably easier and might cost a little bit more to get a mp3/cd headunit.

Just drive the car to the honda dealership. Maybe they will be nice and fix it for free.
When in doubt, call the dealership.

That's all we do where i work; your dealer just consults a database that has all the info specific to your car. They shouldn't charge you, the info is only a couple of mouse clicks away.

ha, most dealerships only keep track if you bought the car there. Here's the easist way.
On your 01-05 Civics, here's a shortcut to getting the seriel number...
With the radio OFF, push and hold 1 and 6 on the face...push volume button(radio ON)...your seriel number will flash in 2 number sequences.. example...2102 3604. Call up Honda, tell them the number, and they can get the radio code. If not, PM me and I'll look it up

Nice tip. I completely forgot about that.

of course I don't mind. Get the seriel number off the radio itself...some newer models, like the 01-05 Civic, you can hit 1 and 6 like previously mentioned

Start off by checking the left panel of the glovebox (outside the actual compartment area). If nothing is there, check your Owner's Manual for a card with the information sticker. If all else fails, you'll have to go to the Honda dealership that sold you the car, for that information. That's the only way you'll get the information.
PS. Next time, Search and check the FAQ's before bumping a thread that hasn't had activity in over 6 months.
