Problems with a universal oxygen sensor
hey guys a few weeks ago I picked up this oxygen sensor to use on a b-series swap I am doing into a EG OBD 1
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...33557
the swap is in but we can't figure out the wiring/color scheme's for the o2 sensor.
The oxygen sensor has 4 wires color'd:
-black
-blue
-white
-black
the o2 sensor clip from the obd 1 harness is colored:
-black
-green
-white
-black
is it safe to asume that the green is the black cable?
I've searched and can't find much information on this.
please and thanks

Re: Problems with a universal oxygen sensor (panda_si)
Ok this was for my swap and I contacted NGK and have the wires verified that they are:
black = black
blue = green
white = white
black = black
Black #1(dosen't mater which one) = 12v reference
Black #2(dosen't mater which one) = Heater Control
White = Ground wire
Blue/Green = Signal wire
Hook them up and the o2 will work fine.
Mine has been on the car for just over 2 months and running great
Just wanted to update this thread incase anybody else has the same issue/questions

Re: Problems with a universal oxygen sensor (DonF)
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by DonF »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Ask the E-BAY supplier how to hook it up. That is the job of the seller.</TD></TR></TABLE>
It's already resolved...but he did provide me with the NGK link. But unfortunately the NGK 'how-to' link doesn't show the exact wiring colors Honda has.

Re: Problems with a universal oxygen sensor (Mr.R)
I bought a Denso universal sensor for my 93 Civic DX and, after much research, I found the following re wire colors.
Universal Denso Sensor Wire Colors
Blue = Signal
White = Ground
Black = heater
Black = heater
93 Civic DX Connector Colors
White = Signal
Green = ground
Black = heater
Black = heater
The following sites support this:
http://www.sohchonda.com/forum...10073 (see links to two pdf files here)
home.att.net/~ngksparkplugs/Oxygen_Sensor_Wire_Color_Matrix.xls
I connected the wires by color as shown above and per the new sensor's instructions, and it works great.
I bought the universal Denso sensor on Amazon for about $43 total.
