1. A Young Girl's Dream

The first on the list doesn't exactly feature one of their Honda vehicles, but it is still effective. With only narration in the background, we see a young girl setting up her first drum set, and what follows are the stages of her becoming a rock star. The commercial ends with the phrase "...it was just a dream. Your dreams are our dreams." which shows that Honda both understands the dreams of little girls all over and wants to be a part of it. What better way to sell their brand than with an image that puts a smile on your face?

2. A Young Boy's Dream

Much like the drums, this 2016 commercial features a young boy and follows him through his years into adulthood. With the power of imagination, this young boy dreams of one day owning a Honda and the excitement it will bring him. Flash forward, he is now an adult and has lost that dream with his mediocre car. That is, of course, until the Accord drives in front of him. It is only then that his childhood dream comes rushing back. The Accord becomes a symbol of happiness, excitement and adventure as we watch it through the actor's eyes.

3. The Dreamer

Aptly titled "The Dreamer," we find ourselves looking at the inner workings of one of Honda's engineers. With the playing of Walking on a Dream (by Empire of the Sun), we are taken into a magical ride in the Civic. The audience isn't only shown that imagination and thought was put into creating their favorite model, but also that it was designed with them in mind.

4. Paper and Hands

Continuing with the power of dream, both of these commercials take a small idea and make it big. They both show a small element, such as a nut or motor, and use their imagination to create something more. This shows both Honda's history and their road to change the future. With only hands being shown, you can interpret it in many different ways. You can see it as God-like and believe that the power of great beyond created a ride for you. Or, you can see it as what one is capable of doing, especially when multiple hands are working together (Paper).

You can view Hands (2013) here and Paper (2015) here.

5. The Impossible Dream

Like Paper and Hands, this 2005 commercial also showcases Honda's products through the years. The difference is that this one puts an actor (Simon Day), singing The Impossible Dream, behind the wheel. This commercial says that while something might be impossible, it is far better to dream and reach for that impossible dream, so in that in end "the world will be better for [it]." Can you think of anything more fitting than this song and Honda?

6. Kenny and Debra

The message of these 2003 commercials is that your younger self will never be disappointed with a minivan, as long as it is a Honda Odyssey, of course. If you haven't figured out the dream concept here, it portrays the younger versions of these people. Feeling betrayed by their older selves for not pursuing their dreams, they come back with a bone to pick. Only once they see the beauty of the Odyssey (and their spouses), they don't exactly feel the same.
