wheel adapters and spacers on ebay?
just want some feedback about wheel spacers and adapters found on ebay
i need then so RLX wheels clear brake calipers on RL
ideally i need a 15mm spacer 64.1mm center bore and 15mm thickness but its impossible to find
its either 5x114 or 74.1mm bore for bmw
other option is to get the adapter for 5x120 but im assuming that the adapter has to be at least 20mm so it doesnt crack but that might stick out the wheels too far out.
another option is to buy 5x114 to 5x120 adapters but i would have to sell the RLX wheels and buy another set and then the headache of matching the thickness to the new 5x114 wheels to clear the break calipers
i found custom machined adapters but i dont see it being a smart move to spend another 400 dollars on custom adapters only to fit stock wheels on the car
questions:
1 if going with spacers
what brand bolts should i get
and is it ok to drill out the lug holes outward to fit to 5x120?
2 if i go with adapters. are 15mm adapters safe or too thin and will crack( ive seen some cracked adapters but dont know what conditions led to cracking and bolts snapping off)
acura RL is 4000 lbs tank so im very iffy about thin adapters i was thinking at least 20mm
3 if i go with 5x114 to 5x120 adapters. what is the most common offset on 5x114 wheels (18x8) so i can get a ballpark adapter that would fit the most common offset of the wheels available
this is really crappy situation and im not sure which is a better option.
i have stock wheels that came with the car and chrome is peeling they are 18x8 55mm offset
and i bought 2014 RLX wheels being very confident that they would fit since they are also 18x8 and 50mm offset
but i was wrong. they need another 15mm to clear the RL calipers.
so im stuck with these options trying to figure out whats better

Re: wheel adapters and spacers on ebay?
I would be wary of products on eBay, but there are bolt-on adapters out there worth trusting for this purpose. 15mm is the thinnest I would go. The lug nuts should match the wheel seat, and have the same thread pitch as the bolt-on adapters. The adapters should come with the appropriate hardware to attach to the hub, so all you need is the normal lug nuts that are used to bolt the wheel to the car. I would also advise getting adapters that are hubcentric as well, since you plan on running this on a street car.
