Default Wal-Mart Wheel Rotation - Scratched Wheel

So I took my car in to wal-mart tire and wheel center to get my two front wheels rotated. I wait and an hour and a half. They call my name and I pick my keys up and leave wal-mart. I get in my driveway and inspect the wheels. They scratched and chipped a couple of the wheel lug not holes. I take pictures and head to wal-mart. I tell them the situation and they have me fill out a form stating what the situation was. They take pictures and tell me that insurance company will be giving me a call on whether or not they will cover it. I am never going to get my car serviced at wal-mart again. I've learned my lesson.

Do you guys think they will cover the damage?

Here are the pictures:

Paint particles inside a lug nut hole that wasn't scratched

in all seriousness if you are that **** about stuff, do the work yourself but in regards to your question, ya they will most likely fix it

their going to give you a reimbursement for the rotation and thats the farthest they will go... First of all you should have done the work yourself and not taken it to a clothing/food/appliance store...

I agree that he should do the work himself if he's that **** that a tiny nick is going to bother him. However, my personal experience with the tire department at several Wal-Marts has been pretty darn good. I've had them mount several sets of tires without problems. And on a leaking tire, they found a hard-to-find leak at the tire bead. Also, it's hard to find a place that charges reasonable mounting fees and is willing mount tires you didn't buy from them, and Wal-Mart does all of that.

To the OP - jacking up your car and removing and replacing wheels (such as when rotating the tires) is just about the easiest thing you can do yourself. Have a friend with mechanical experience show you how. You just need a jack and a torque wrench. You can use the jack that comes in your car, but it's a lot easier if you get a hydraulic jack. You can get cheap ones for $20-30, although if your car is slammed, their minimum lift height may be too high for your car (measure first, at the jacking points). I like the $80 lightweight one you can get at Harbor Freight. Harbor Freight also has a decent torque wrench for $10.

they probably won't do anything. i had my wheels fcked up by walmart. my lip was all fcked up on every wheel they touched and the inside had dent marks from the machine.

and if you ever get your wheels mounted and balanced make sure whoever you take it to has a touch less mounting machine.

listen up, and listen good, i used to work for wal-mart, if they say they arent going to cover it, go to the store manager, bitch up a storm, if he/she says they arent going to cover it, call their hq 1800walmart, and complain, complain, complain, and get names of whoever you talk to. if you complain enough, and long enough, they will cover all repairs, but you will have to pay to get it done first, then they will reimburse you. long story short, just complain till you get what you want

Even if the insurance adjuster denied my claim? The adjuster twisted my words around. Will I still have any luck with the manager.

you should have done it yourself with such an easy job. walmart is known for selling merchandise not a wheel/tire specialist.

You can say "Why did you get it done at Wal-Mart"..."It's Wal-Mart"...etc. I paid for a service and it should have been done right. period.

My claim was denied a couple of days ago. The adjuster twisted my words around and said they are denying my claim. I contacted the BBB and a letter has been sent out by them to Wal-Mart. Hopefully I can get this resolved. To make matters worse the people at the tire center were rude. The adjuster was rude. The adjuster said something to the extent of it's a wheel, it's suppose to get scratched. Wal-Mart

I'll give them a call tomorrow. I also don't feel like going down and dealing with the manager. So I'll call the headquarters. Thanks for your help.

Well it seems like all the complaints involved with wal-mart on BBB get resolved.

That doesn't make sense. Read it over again bro. I paid for the lifetime balancing but it came with lifetime rotation too.

my original comment does make sense, you failed to advise us that you get free rotations/balancing.

they're just wheels, get over it...i'd understand if they were really expensive super rare wheels, not rotas...
