Tirogage?

I saw this new product in Popular Science the other day. It's designed for big rigs, but they're planning to expand into the car market next year.

Useful or useless bling?... I might find it useful on the daily driver depending how accurate it is. Anyone ever seen something like this before?

There are those.

There are a few draw backs. The first is it has to depressed your valve stem to work so if the sensor is not on super snug you will be leaking air. The second is how accurate are they? +/- 1psi or +/- 5psi? Big difference. Another draw back is you have to re-balance your tires afterwards because it is adding considerable weight on the outer edge of your rim. Also if these stick out too far they are very susceptible to damage from curbs and if you damage it you will leak air because as previously stated they have to depress your valve stem to work. The final draw back I see is that they will get stolen. It is very easy to steal such a thing.

Great idea but it seems that there are some issues that must be addressed.

Thanks - I didn't think about the extra weight and need to rebalance - maybe they can make them in carbon fiber https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emwink.gif . THose in the pics look like they just screw on and look like they stick out way too much. The Tirogage unit seems like it reads pressure continuously (dial is before the needle valve).

Seems like someone could make a ton of money if a major auto company picked up on something like this. Guess I'll wait to see if the product gets refined.
