Tire rubbing issue

Tire rubbing issue
I have a Del Sol, lowered slightly (1.5"), 15x6.5 +38 offset wheels with 205/50 R15 Continental Extremecontact Sport tires. I just got the tires not too long ago and noticed a problem soon after, they rub when at full lock, right at the front part of the shock tower.
I have been looking at options ranging from altering the wheel well area that's effected, to getting wheels with a different offset. I thought about spacers, but really not sure about them. As a practical experiment, I pulled one front wheel and spaced it with washers, then I ROLLED the car (no power) and turned full lock. the rub was still there, but less. (Spacing was about 5-6mm) One note: There is no power steering, all manual.
So, I'm sort of fishing for ideas and suggestions. I know that many are running 205 tires on a Del Sol, I have even seen some (on this forum) using 225! Which also brings up the question: How in the hell do you run 225 tires on A Del Sol!?
Thanks!

Re: Tire rubbing issue
Alignment was done when the new tires were installed. Everything is within spec, save for camber. The closest it can come is -2.1 on the left, -1.8 on the right with stock upper ball joints. (Maximum negative camber is 1.3) Considering a couple of things to fix that problem, but haven't settled on anything yet, there is a lot of crap out there.....
Not sure if a degree, or slightly less than will make a difference.....
