need air pressure tips
 

hi i just bouhgt some 17x7 dp12s mounted on falken zeix 512's.. what is a good front/rear cold tiree pressure? i have a 04 coupe that is 2500lbs and has 0toe all around and -2camber front and -1 rear.. what tire pressure do u suggest me running for auto-x..

put what Honda recommends. I would put about 35.

For street driving, I would agree. But he's asking about pressures for autocross.

I would put the tire pressure at 30-32. Cuz they'll heat up when you're road racing, and it'll make it expand even more. So yea.....30-32.

Umm, maybe a little higher? I'd use max pressure (35) for the front and a few pounds less on the rear. How much less, you'll just have to experiment with for your car. This will help dial out understeer.

you've got that backwards. lower in the front and higher in the rear will dial out oversteer and also give you better grip for acceleration. i'm not too familiar with the ziex, but i'd try 32f/34r to start and then adjust from there.

*sigh*

It works this way, believe me. I've been autoxing for 3 years, and I lower the rear tire pressure to bring the rear end around easier.

I'm talking about oversteer before you slide. As long as your tires are still tracking, lower pressure = heightened slip angle = more steer on those wheels. If you're talking about raising the rear pressure to induce snap oversteer, that's another story.

i run the falken 512's they are great in the street. but i ripped threw them pretty fast in the canyons. im going to try some bf g force next. still trying to firgure out wat works best. i know a few guys who run the yoko avs es 100s. they say they grip well but u can also go threw them pretty fast. for the falkens i ran them at 32 -35psi but my wheels are 205 50 r15. so im sure different pressures are needed for the more low pro tires. like it says im just a noob. take it with a grain of salt. good luck. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

Nonsense. They're lasting over 40K miles on our GS-R, longer than any other tire we've used on that car.

Not necessarily. Try them at the pressures recommended for your CAR, then adjust as needed.
