H caps came from an accord or civic but I not sure which one. They do look like they were polish and painted black on the side.

they are polished but not like a super shiny polish. It still looks OEM.

Well here is a write up on polishing wheels but the guy used some HX wheels and painted the insides like those LS Mesh check it out, i think its close enough and the the more you sand the more shiny the item will be when you go to polish it.

I've never seen anybody polish any mesh like this . Most people just do the face . You probably need alot of different tools to get them this polished

They probably powdercoated them then taped off the painted sections and sand blasted the faces.I think that would be the neatest and simplest way to do it.The polished ones are going to need tons of work to get every inch of the wheels that clean.

Those are my wheels.

They were done professionally at a wheel shop. The wheels were stripped, powdercoated gloss black, faces were cut on a lathe, and then the wheels were powder cleared.

Center caps are for si wheels. There was a centercap thread stickied in the wheel and tire forum that this pic and center cap info were originally posted in:

Thanks handofgod, do you have AIM? What exactly do you mean by cut on a lathe? What part was cut?

He means you can't do this at home. Especially if you don't know what "cut on a lathe" means.

The faces and lips were cut because the wheels had been powdercoated. They were cut to remove the black powdercoat from the faces and lips.

The chrome ones look to be dipped, probably not polished.

So both sets were likely done by professional wheel shops and NOT at home. NOT DO IT YOURSELF.

I know I'm not going to do this at home I'm just wondering what steps need to be done in order for them to be done properly. So the whole wheel was powder coated black, then the faces cut on a lathe to remove the black powder coating and to reveal the OEM polished look?

they were fully polished by my brother who works at Asanti wheel corp. Alot of people think they are dipped in chrome .

The first visible pictures are actually chrome plated.
