Default EK wheel stud sizes

Are the stock studs on an EX and DX different knurl diameters? I bought replacement DX hubs and they have slightly larger diameter holes when I compare them to EX hubs. Trying to install ARP studs but they only come in one size for the EK and they are too small for the larger DX holes...what to do??

Sounds like you bought aftermarket hubs. I have a set of unreturnable CRV hubs sitting in a box because I pressed the studs out before I realized the knurls were larger. You have two options:

1) Look at the ARP website and find a stud that will work (they list dimensions, you'll have to do a little digging). In my case I think it was a Subaru stud. I didn't like the idea of having mismatched front and rears, but that's me being overly picky. This would be the more economical option though.

2) Buy OE hubs or do some sleuthing and find hubs that are exactly the same as OE. This will require some work as most vendors don't list knurl size. Obviously going to OE is significantly more expensive than the brown box specials you got from rockauto or wherever.

Id like to bring this thread back as Im running into the same issue. Except Im not looking to do arp, just a replacement stud. I Measured the broken stud, and the knurl was about .511". Theres no listed part number for any honda applications in m12x1.5 with this knurl diameter. I went as far as pinpointing other studs with similar diameters. Im gonna try to pick up a few today and see if they work. Just wondering what the OP did in this situation. So far Im looking at dorman Part# 610-295, 610-294, 610-324

It turns out that a lot of the Japanese brands use a larger diameter stud; 0.54" diameter. The OEM size is 0.485" diameter. ARP does not make a 0.54" stud in that thread pitch.

I ended up researching a bunch of brands and contacting them directly. Timken and GMB are the only two that I found to have OEM diameter stud holes. Timken makes both front and rear hubs. GMB only makes rear.

Dura-Go and WJB are too large.

Hi was this ever sorted?

Im doing a 5 stud conversion on my Integra and purchased 2 new front and 2 new rear hubs.
both different makes 2 was OPTIMAL, 2 was FEBEST.

I removed my old ARP extended studs out of my old 4 stud conversion and wacked the studs out of the new hubs to find out the hole was bigger like the above?
I cant afford to lose the cost of 4 hubs and then purchase 4 OEM hubs at about £500
I see the Evo 789 studs are very close in Knurl Diameter (in.): 0.565 in.?

I just wondered what you others done?
If the evo ones are slightly bigger i will slightly drill the hub out do match it then press them in then weld the back of all studs.
