civic coupe wide rim fitment
I have a 99 civic coupe and before I order up the new lips for my wheels, can anyone with a civic coupe that has ran a 8.5 inch wide rim with stretched tires (195/45R15) had rubbing issues with just a fender roll? Any modifications you had to do to make it fit right and no rub?
I know I have to adjust camber and such I just want to get the body work thing down before I spend money on new lips. I been debating for awhile what size to run. Every time I decide on a size, I want to go wider. Last was 8 inch wide rim all around with 195/45r15 tire but now I want 8.5 all around and if not, just in the rear. Pics would help too! I have searched, all I could find is wheel and tire sizes, no one with what they did for body work. Thanks! |

195's on 8.5 inch wide wheels is such a great idea! I wonder why the tire companys say its dangerous?? They must be stupid!

Re: civic coupe wide rim fitment
It really depends on the wheel. What offset will you be running? Thats very important. 8.5" wide rim is pretty wide. You might not be able to turn real well. Unless you are running different width for the back, I seen people running 9"+ on the back.

On a '99 Civic with 15" wheels, you need either 195/55-15, which can only be safely mounted on rims 5.5-7.0 inches wide, or 205/50-15, which can only be safely mounted on rims 6.0-8.0 inches wide. 195/45-15 is MUCH too small for your car. Unless you're creating a show car for the "low rider" circuit, LOL! |
