Default Car Drives Straight but Steering Wheel is Crooked...?

I have an '04 RSX type-S and my alignment is fine but I've noticed that the steering wheel is crooked. I know in the past when I've gotten alignments they are able to loosen the steering wheel and realign it...how do you do that?

Your adjustments will be near the firewall behind your tire. Adjusting this too much yourself will just throw out your toe specs. If your car is lowered this is going to be more of a pain is the ***. But reach in the fender and losen the bolts on the tie rod sleave. You will do this on both sides then have a buddy sit in the car to tell you as the steering wheel is turning and which direction to turn it. Slowly turn each side a little bit and both the same amount until the wheel is centered. Again this is really not something you want to do yourself if you can afford to take it to a shop. More then likely you will end up setting the toe too far off and cause tire wear. Hope this helps!

Same thing has happened to my Integra. I just had new snow tires installed and the steering wheel is off-centered for the first time since I've purchased the car. The tires were under-inflated, so after I filled them to spec, the steering wheel was better but still not perfectly straight. Haven't gotten around to making a phone call to the tire shop about it...

Thanks. Yeah, I think I'll take it to a shop. I haven't had an alignment since I bought it so it couldn't hurt anyway.

you could always undo the steering wheel and align it yourself, but i'd try the alignment shop first

i'd just pop off the wheel, straighten it, and pop it back on.

Same thing is happening with me. But I dont mind, my steering wheel is just a tad off, but the car drives straight. In any case, it doesnt bother me at all right now.

Once I drop the car next year, THEN I will get an alignment and hopefully they do it right to fix the problem.

Can you just align the steering wheel from within the cabin? Is there somewhere to loosen it?
