I Just bought konig daylite 15x6.5 et40... I want to know if i can slammed my civic 2000 sedan without rolling the fender....the tire will be 195/55r15... thanks

i have daylites too with 205 50 tires and im pretty slammed on coils with no rub or anything but jdm 36 is right just depends on how slammed you go

the width will determine whether it rubs or not. 195 width tires should tuck up in there nicely if you don't go too low, but your camber will be way negative, and your tires will wear unevenly, and you'll probably destroy your ball joints and experience accelerated brake wear. Get a camber kit if you're gonna lower your ride. It will save you a lot of hassle down the road.

I agree w/the above: w/o rolling your fenders you will most likely need to adjust in some negative camber to avoid rubbing on stock fenders especially w/that 55 series tire. I know its only slightly taller than 205/50 but in my experiences they would always rub even slightly on +35-40 offset 'slammed' applications.

Try to find a spot that has a rack to accomodate 'slammed' cars and will guarantee an alignment and/or sell you a lifetime alignment.

That's insane. Do you realize how much 3 inches is? If you do that, and don't correct the camber, you will destroy your car, and probably scrape the ground if you hit a big bump. You'll have to flare your rear fenders, and you will definitely rub on your fender liners up front. 3 inches is a LOT. I don't think you'll like how the car responds to that kind of drop.

if i drop maybe 2.5 and put 195/50r15 will the tires look too small for the car ???

2.5 is as far as I would go. That's even a little extreme. think about it, you drop the center of gravity 2.5 inches, and the rest of your suspension system has to move to compensate for the shorter springs. Your control arms and ball joints begin to establish new wear patterns, and all your bushings and boots are going to get pinched in ways they aren't supposed to be. Are you intending to spend the extra money to correct the resulting camber changes, and roll/flare your fenders? I made the mistake several years ago of slamming my car, and I only dropped it about 1 3/4 inches. Everything rubbed, and my tires wore out really fast. The outer edges were barely making contact with the ground. It didn't handle any better, and I lost a lot of traction. When I hit large bumps, it caused these big bubbles to pop out on the outer sidewalls of the tires, and bent my rims. Yes, I'm trying to discourage you from slamming your car. It looks tits, but the stock suspension is engineered to work the best with your car. If you're hell-bent on doing this thing, get springs with adjustable ride height so you're not stuck with something that could be destructive, even unsafe to drive on. If you want to improve your handling, get a strut tower brace, a rear sway bar, and replace your stabilizer links with polyurethane.

The most you can drop your car safely, without performing many other modifications to accomodate said drop, is about 1". It will be a noticeable difference, and it won"t destroy other components. If you look at some of the pictures of cars that are really slammed, they don't even look driveable. That look is cool when parked, and hydraulics are the best way to accomplish that, so that you can just set it down when you wanna show off. If this is your daily driver, you just have to weigh the cost of the mod against the advantages of it. It would be a more effective upgrade to just buy oversized rims and tires to close your fender gap, and reinforce the stock suspension with braces and bolt-ons.

I recommend dropping no more than 1.5 inches and using the proper tire size, 195/55-15 or 205/50-15.

195/50/15's will not look too small, nor are they too small for the car.
you wont rub at all. im about 3.5 inches lower than stock and my car drives perfect.
i was running 195/50/15's on ls mesh and didnt rub at all. i to perfect tire wear and everything as well.

Yea, he wouldn't rub If he was using the "wrong tire size" for his year make and model car but then that would mean he would be going backward in his solution.
