Best Tires?
About to get some new wheels. My current ones (that came with the car when I got it) are 17x7 Motegi MR116 wheels. Running 215/45/17 tires in the rear and a 225/45/17 on the front right and a 205/45/17 on the front left (the car came that way, it makes me mad too).
New wheels are going to be 17x8.5 STR's with a 30 offset. Currently have 195/45/17 or 195/40/17 tires all around (seller isn't entirely sure). But they're pretty much bald anyway.
I saw that the FAQ said that 205/40/17 tires would be best on 17" wheels. This sounds right, but I wanted to see if there was any other input on the matter.
Car is a 2000 Honda Civic DX coupe, not lowered.
I'm new to the Civic community, so thanks in advance for helping me out

8.5" wide? You should be looking at at least a 225 or better yet a 235-245. Of course, we'd need to know a little more about your actual setup to know what'll fit without rolling/rubbing. What kind of driving/weather is this for? Do you need a tire for wet, snow?

Re: Best Tires?
I picked up the wheels last night. Updating now that the tires are 205/40/17 all around. Two are brand new, the others are balding from being stanced.
As for setup, the car is on stock suspension. I will be rolling the fenders shortly (it could use it even with the current wheels and tires). I live in Texas, so the weather is almost always warm. Don't need tires for snow. I've run both all-season and summer tires on my previous vehicle. This will be my daily.
