Default Best Tire Size on a 15x7 for an Accord

Just trying to decide on a nice tire size that i can a good choice of tires in. Right now i'm running 205/55/15's on some 15x6's and i really like them but i'm really limited on tire selection in that size. As of right now i'm running some es100's and i love em'. I'm torn though because my new wheels are 15x7's and i'm trying to find something a little more sticky(cause they are gonna see some autox use) but i want something with enough sidewall height to not ruin the final drive on my hseries and that won't leave a ton of wheel gap.

Thanks. I'll assume it's a 4 cylinder, for which the stock size was 195/60-15, and not the V6 (205/60-15).

There really aren't a whole lot of choices in 195/60-15 or 205/55-15 or 205/60-15. The Yokohama ES100 that you mentioned is a very good tire for street use - very good dry performance, excellent wet performance, last a long time, and have a bargain price. They're okay for autocross but not as good as the best around.

One thing that's not clear is whether you are going to keep both sets of wheels. If you do, that gives you a lot more flexibility. Specifically, you can use the 15x6 stockers for your street tires, and then get some wider tires for the 15x7 that you'll use specifically for autocross. What I'm thinking here is 225/50-15, which is 1.5 percent smaller than the stock outer diameter (but is almost exactly the same outer diameter as the 205/55-15 you have now). They're wider than stock (obviously) and I'm not sure whether they will or won't rub on the wheel well liners - but if you're only using them for autocross, that doesn't really matter. In 225/50-15, you can get some tires that offer MUCH higher performance than the ES100, but they're not inexpensive - tires such as the BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KD or the Bridgestone Potenza S-03 Pole Position, either one of which would be excellent for autocross. You can even get R compounds such as the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup, Yokohama A048R, and various Kumhos - not suitable for street use, but great for autocross.

she's h22swapped and i was thinking about 225/50/15 but needed a second opinion, the offset on these wheels is gonna push out alot further than stock but i'm sure i can work on the 225's rubbing if it does. they won't be daily'd but i'm sure i'll roll them more than just at the autox just cause i like handling and going fast. thanks for the help.

Sure, no problem.

BTW, the Falken Azenis RT-615 will be available in 225/50-15 towards the end of the year. It's an excellent tire for autocross and also street driving.
