Re: 90 Ef hatch tire/rim help
Stock offset is +45 which I think will acommodate 205 tires. Wheels with +45 offset are not so common, mostly OEM Honda and the more expensive lightweigth brands like Spoon SW388, Volk TE37, Advan RC II, Enkei RS05 and RC-T4, Sprint/Racinghart CP-F and some other models, Work XT7.
Many drive +40 which has the benefit of wider track but lower-than-45 offset has some disadvantages like more bearing and knuckle load, a more difficult steering feel and some other issues. However the advantage of wider track outweighs the -small in case of +40 - problems of lower offset. Rota's in 15" come most commenly in +40.
You can go even lower but I wouldn't do that 'cause of the becoming larger disadvantages.

OFFSET has to do with positioning how far in or out the wheels sit. It has nothing to do with accommodating a particular tire size (i.e. whether a particular tire size can be mounted on a given wheel).
WIDTH determines whether or not a particular tire size can be accommodated (mounted). Most 205/50-15 tires can be safely mounted on wheels 6.0-8.0 inches wide.

Re: 90 Ef hatch tire/rim help
Correct.
Considering wheel widths relevant here (so: 6.0-8.0 inches wide) it is my opinion that these (6, 6.5 for sure) would fit (meaning wheel/tire combo not rubbing/hitting any car parts) having offset +45 (amongst others).
Maybe +45 offset with some other relevant wheel widths (7-8?) would not clear fenders or so.

Offset is relevant to whether or not a tire rubs when the wheel and tire is mounted on a car. Offset is not relevant to whether or not a tire of a certain size can be mounted on a given wheel, which is how I interpreted your use of the word "accommodated".
