Default 205/45R16 or 205/55R15

When I bought the car it came with a set of 205/40/16 tires and they are a little to small (in diameter). I want to get the tires back to stock-ish height.

Should I keep my 16" wheels and get a set of 205/45R16s or should I switch to a 15" wheel?

Car is mainly street/highway; it is lowered. These tires won't be used to track racing.

205-45-16 will work and will make your speedometer true/accurate.
