Which welder to use for sheet metal?

I am replacing my rear quarter panel. I just want to know what type of welder is appropriate for the job (ARC, MIG, GAS). Also, any welding tips/techniques with sheetmetal welding would be appreciated.

In all honesty, if I were doing this type of work, my favorite machine would be a Hobart Handler with gas coverage. My second choice would be the same machine with no gas and flux core wire. It will put down a weld cool enough to minimize distortion, and is very controllable. Remember that sometimes more weld is not better...and can cause major warpage problems. You may find it best to just use many quick spot welds, rather than one bead that's run for inches at a time. Skip around a lot and if it gets too hot to touch, let it cool before welding more.

I welded a quarter on about 2 years ago with a 150 dollar mig with flux core from walmart. If thats possible to get a nice job done with, you can do a nice job with any decent mig, gas or flux.

What about reverse polarity TIG?
