Default turbo manifold bracing 75mm turbo

what and how are you guys bracing your sidemounted or front facing turbo manifolds? I have a luvfab top mount stainless manifold that i need to modify to mount this monster bullseye S375 T4 turbo with race cover. i believe the manifold is 16gauge 304 stainless. I am concerned the weight of this turbo may compromise the manifold. Any suggestions welcome. Pics please if you have any

Brace the turbo, not the manifold. Bracing the manifold just adds another stress point to it. You just want to take some of the weight of the turbo off the manifold.

does anyone have any pics? I know i'll have to get a little creative but where on the block are you guys running braces to the turbo from? are you guys using a threaded bolt on the end of steel pipe or something to tighten and take weight from the manifold?

Usually i see them attached to the car itself with some sort of pivoting or rubber-filled-mount type of thing to provide the needed movement.

wait, attach to the engine or the car. a spherical bearing or just a bushing? wouldnt the engine's vibratiins and torque put stress on the manifold if the turbo was connected to the frame and not the engine itself?

long tube turbo manifolds usually have the turbo solid mounted to the chassis, and have a special flex pipe in the manifold between the collector and the turbo to absorb any vibrations.

I have a 80mm turbo braced and using a 16 gauge tube turbo manifold. I'll see if I can upload some pictures.

i use heim joints/rod ends which allow for adjustability and movement

Did you use a right and left hand threaded rod end?

How did you adjust them? Im lookin for a stud with both right/left hand threads so i can add a little bit of tension after i bolt it to the turbo

I've did it both ways, ive used a right and left hand with a connecting sleeve and ive just simply used a male and female rod end

Does tension need to be applied at all?

Im thinking when the rod ends are joined some tension pulling up on the manifold would help take the weight off

Or is it just when it starts to expand the rod ends do their job?

I dont put any tension on it...just snug it up, tighten the lock nut and let heat do its thing...especially since all i use is 16g ss tubing

I would brace it to nearest possible spot . Thats a lot of turbo and you will need something rigid to hold it . Obviously something coming from underneath would be best for supporting the weight.
