Default My 1st exhaust, ls1 240 y pipes/ cat back

This was the 1st real go on stainless (minus a few vband flanges here and there).

Started with the y pipe, my saw cant achieve these angles so i just put them on the belt sander.

Custom 1x48 belt sander lol. So scary when they shred.

After i welded the Y pipe i was pretty disappointed. At first it looked hot to me, then as i welded more and more of the stuff (316) i could see that keeping the bead width narrow gave me arc wander, and honestly didnt help my discoloration problem all that much. I would lower the heat, but then id have to move slower, then the heat looked right, but the bead too raised/ narrow. I think its gas coverage, i was constantly trying different heat the entire time, to try and figure out what i was doing wrong. Im running a #8 cup, gas lens, 2%thoriated red, 308L .035 most of the time, and prolly an average of about 20cfm, though i went higher with no affects and lower with only slight bit of difference. I ordered #12 lens setup 2 weeks ago from arc zone, but still nothing. Ps. This one isnt purged, but im getting another tank soon so i can step it up. Any advice is appreciated. PPS> sorry for the **** pics.

Its actually not bad at all. It has a resonator inline. I'll get a sound clip and post it up.
