Default Modification of single scroll turbo manifolds?

I know there has been heated arguments on the merits of tubular equal length turbo manifolds vs cast log manifolds. The consensus being log style for better response, tubular equal length for more boost and higher power. The discussed problems with cast manifolds are cylinder 1 and 4 fire at each other causing increased exhaust scavaging and detonation.

My question is, is it plausible to grind a slot out of the center where the runners meet and weld a plate or partial plate to block off some of the overlap. Kind of a fast and dirty twin scroll manifold. Making cylinders one and two partially separated from three and four? The only possible donor manifold being the stainless steel treadstone one.

I'm posting this here because its more of a fabrication question than a forced induction one.

Would it work? Is it worth it?
