Re: J32A2 swap into 95 Civic Si
Evan, is there anyway you can tell me how far the engine sits above the hood line? I'd like to start researching possible hood solutions for my upcoming J Swap.

the very front of the manifold is where it sticks out the highest, due to the fact the Civic hood slopes so much. I'll get an exact measurement when I get my car returned back to me...but I believe it;s right around 3".
A clean hump should look great. I have a body guy working on a solution as we speak

That's awesome man, good to know. I was thinking something along the lines of a clean bump as well. Would look pretty sweet. Thanks for answering so fast.

hey evan,
I know your inbox is full like you stated. could I get an email address for you? But, If you have the time I really do have some questions that I think you may be the only person that could answer them. I'm very close to being done with this swap.
here is a link to my BT just so you know I'm not a bunch of talk.

Re: J32A2 swap into 95 Civic Si
Is this a Subaru scoop that's been sealed onto an OEM hood?
It isn't big enough or sitting forward enough to make clearance on the J, but it doesn't look TOO bad.
I wanna see that stock hood retained on this build, EVS!! No custom carbon fiber!

Re: J32A2 swap into 95 Civic Si
I just scanned this entire thread, and i could not believe all the ignorant posts. Props to the owner who's taking the time and patience to post all this information even with all the ignorant, and ridiculous questions. All of a sudden a bandwagon of people decide they want to jump in and do the swap. WOW! I find it funny people would compare it to a K motor as well.
Anyway, on to more important things. I'd like to see more numbers and fabrication of the progress. I like the creativity and ingenuity that went into this build. Certainly shows the craftsmanship and dedication to his work.

from what i have read in other forums, ya, it isn't a whole lot different then any other swap... true, you need to have the axels redone, but its pretty much the same...
i assume the OP could elaborate on this if he wishes...

Re: J32A2 swap into 95 Civic Si
Nothing new...here's a dyno chart. Stock engine, stock ECU, just a 3" intake with K&N filter
I have about 30-35 drag passes on it, making sure mounts/axles are all bueno- everything holding up perfectly!
Ran a 12.7@107 on crappy track...should do mid to low 12's on good track and bolt ons. Should be fun.
Getting it prepped for a track day soon. I drive the car everyday, in fact, the wife and I took it for a 14 hr road trip to my parents last weekend

Re: J32A2 swap into 95 Civic Si
Hello,
First of all - I ****ing love this swap. Saw it first in a HondaTuning Magazine and then did research and found this thread. Scanned the whole MF thing and it's awesome!!!!
Couple of questions:
1: Hows the emissions?
I live in AZ, so its not as that ******* state to our left *cough*cali*cough*, but still emissions is an important thing.
2: Did you keep a/c?
I bet living in NorthWest you don't need a/c, but when you have 120 degree summers and your back sticks to the leather through 2 T-shirts, then you might want to have a/c running. lol.
3: And Power Steering - do you have it?
Again awesome thread and thanks for looking over them questions.

Re: J32A2 swap into 95 Civic Si
Emissions is no problem. Just need to run a cat and it passes sniffer no problem.
No AC...car never had it.
PS- no. Swapped out to manual rack long ago...miss the PS ratio, but the manual rack gives more clearance for the bigger motor
ran a 12.7 with stock manifolds and stock ECU...have some more pics/videos coming soon

Re: J32A2 swap into 95 Civic Si
A lot. I'll be starting a J-Swap soon which is the same as this but into a DC4. The wiring has been the focus of my research. There are some plug and play versions out there. Last I heard Rywire was offering a plug and play setup. Anything from him is amazing, so I would look into that.
