oh yeah.. its pretty fun. and a relatively cheap build.. Ebay parts.. etc.. its not meant to break records. but its sure fun as hell smashing through the dunes..

UPDATE:
Had some issues with the cylinder heads, just got them back from the Machine shop. Also, we had an issue with the AEM EMS, it was a factory defect, so we're waiting for a new 1060 box from them.
Hopefully we'll get this thing running correctly soon!

Re: J swapped..... Sandrail project!
hmm, i wonder how much it would cost to have an adapter made to bolt a j32 up to a suzuki samurai trans? ive always liked those little 4x4s, and i bet one would really rip with j power, well until axles and stuff start to break lol. i must look into it, because i can get j32 engines for around 200-250 depending on what all i take with it about an 1.5 hours away in a u pull it place lol. i need to go to bed, im getting bad ideas (bad for my bank account)

Re: J swapped..... Sandrail project!
I'm thinking about ditching my civic build and taking on a similar sandrail project..
I was wondering if you could answer a couple questions for me..
Which chassis are you using? I was looking around and Berrein seems to have alot of solid looking kits..
Also, for the J-swap, did you need to change the rotation direction of the engine?
I've been looking at the kennedy adapters and havent been able to decide on a good engine choice to mount to the vdub trans...
Thanks for any help!

Re: J swapped..... Sandrail project!
very curious as to what chassis (or if this was a custom one) was used here..
Does it need to be extended from the ones made to fit the standard VW engine?
(above post was me as well, under some random account I never knew I had and accidentally signed into)

Or better yet, call AEM or one of the hundreds of dealers that sell their products...
I understand in this day and age its very difficult or damned near impossible to pickup a phone and call someone, but it actually works. Give it a try and report back...
Even better, after a 2.1sec search on Google, lookie here: http://www.aemonly.com/electronics-e...waps-2103.html
