What cad software to use for laser pipe cuts?
Hi, i would like to know if someone knows what cad software should i use for laser cutting machine, it's very likely i design collectors for laser cut, i use solidworks and i design all, each pipe including external wastegate pipe but i can't make it possible for to send to shop for laser cutting each piece, they dont tell me wich software they use, so not sure if someone use any software that works for laser cutting tubes. hope you undersatand what i means!.

I know solidworks has a CAM add on maybe they accept that? I am interested in how that works too, how well the fit is and everything.

Guys CAD (computer aided drawing) is the first part design. Then you need a CAM package (computer aided machining) is the part that seems to be unclear.
Once the drawing is done you must then program whatever CNC machine you are looking to make your cuts with. Then setup the machine and make parts I use BobCAD-CAM and SprutCAM.

you can make the model in pretty much any piece of software, and 9/10 you can convert it to whatever format is required for the machine, then ofcourse the machinist will program the file in
