Buying a welder
im in the market for purchasing a tig, and i was looking at the econotig from miller, but then i find out my neighbor has his hobart tigmate for sale. I hear engloid says that hobarts quality has gone way up since miller bought them and the welder is barely used would it be worth it if i could get it for around $800? comes with the 150 amp TIG torch with 12-1/2 ft (3.8 m) cord and flow-through quick-connect , 25 ft. (7.6 m) TIG torch supplied, foot-operated amperage control , 12 ft. (3.7 m) work cable with clamp , Electrode holder and 15 ft (4.6 m) cable with quick-connect. Or is hobart just not worth it?

nope...never said that...
but I think Hobart was doing well before Miller bought them. I don't know how much entwined they are, even today. For all I know, Miller doesn't have much at all to do with the Hobart designs. They make good stuff though...I'd feel comfortable buying the tigmate for that price. Sounds like a pretty nice deal.
