FS: 2005 Subaru Forester XS Sport 5MT
2005 Subaru Forester XS Sport 5MT
2005 Subaru Forester XS Sport 5MT
Mileage: 125,750 mi
Fuel Economy: 22 / 28 MPG
The car is in pretty good shape - cosmetically and mechanically speaking. It's not perfect as there are a couple of things that could be better (see far below for details on the not so good). Clutch was visually inspected and looked fine with lots of material remaining and is consistent with having been replaced in the last few years. AC is recently charged and we ran a pressure test and leak test with UV dye; the system held charge and provides conditioned air on demand. All of the interior/exterior lights were verified to be functional and you shouldn't have to replace any bulbs imminently.
The motor had to be replaced due to overheating and subsequent warping of the decks. We bought a used motor of the same MY and close to the same mileage as the chassis. I stripped it down to the shortblock and refreshed or reset the maintenance cycle on the major components that wear.
