1998 Honda Civic Hatchback - 5 Speed Manual - 100% Stock
1998 Honda Civic Hatchback 5 Speed Manual
158,314 miles
Price: $4,000
Location: South Orange County, CA
History:
3rd Owner – 1st owner pretty much had it its entire life
Clean Title
100% stock
Short Summary:
• Meticulously maintained 100% Stock Honda Civic
• Engine/Transmission are 100% FLAWLESS; engine burns ZERO oil
• Car is in fantastic shape for being almost 20 years old
• Gets great gas mileage and is fun to drive
Exterior Condition:
Very clean with some minor scratches and minor paint fade on the roof
Interior Condition:
In excellent shape with very minor wear – no rips/stains/etc
Maintenance History:
I purchased the car in 2012 – the engine burns no oil and there are no transmission issues but I went ahead and replaced pretty much ALL wear items since this needed to be a reliable daily driver for me.
Oil is changed annually (call it every ~1,500 miles) with synthetic Castrol Syntec and Mobil 1 filter
In total, I put about $5,000 of OEM and aftermarket parts into this car back in early 2013. I have all the receipts if anyone would like to see them. Basically, anything that could wear out, I tried to replace.
OEM Parts (purchased from Honda dealer):
• New hoses (all air/water hoses replaced), mixing valve and new OEM radiator
• New Timing belt, tensioner set, water pump, thermostat
• New main seal, oil pump, and all gaskets (including oil pan gasket)
• New valve cover gasket and grommets
• New distributor o-ring, rotor, cap, and new wires
• New Fuel return hose, new fuel filter and washer, new gas cap
• New OEM brake pads and OEM brake lines and fresh brake fluid
• New Air Filter
• New Battery and new battery cables
• New OEM key
• New taillight gaskets
• New hatch gasket
• New A/C Pulley and belt
• New bottom engine mounts
• New floor mats
• 2012-13 Honda FIT rims with OEM tires (tons of tread left, tires probably have about 10k total mileage on them) – rims do have minor curbing
Non-OEM Parts:
• NGK spark plugs and NTK O2 sensors
• New exedy clutch kit and new OEM Replacement flywheel
• New Pacesetter 755002 OEM Replacement Exhaust Manifold (best OEM replacement on the market imho)
• New Axles
• New rotors
• New JVC KD-X80BT bluetooth headunit
• JL Audio C3-600 front speakers
• CDT HD-690CFX Coax rear speakers
• Rockford Fosgate 400a4 amp (old school, Made in USA, extremely powerful)
• Fully soundeaded with $700 sounddeading solution from sowndeadenershowdown.com (CDT Tiles, Closed Cell Foam, Mass Loaded Vinyl, Thinsulate Acustic Insulation)
• As a result, car is quiet and has no rattles
Lots of other stuff that I probably forgot

Photos of the overhaul:
As you can see, everything was taken out, inspected, and cleaned:
FULLY sound deadened to make it an excellent daily driver with no rattles:

Thanks! I'll look into it, I need a new one myself, and I noticed that one looks like it's made out of steel and not cast iron...
