1973 BMW 2002 4sp; repaint, bilsteins, yokohama, etc.
The car is located in San Francisco, CA
1973 BMW 2002 4-speed manual, original bay area car with blue plates and most reciepts back to the delivery papers. The car was repainted a nice sky blue several years ago, the body is still straight and rot free.
The engine starts and runs great under a re-jetted Weber 32/36 carb, but the stock Solex will be included. Transmission shifts through all four gears smoothly, and revs under 4,000rpm at 75mph.
The front suspension has recently been completely rebuilt with new ball joints, tie-rods, poly bushings, and Bilstein HD shocks at all 4 corners. The front disc brakes were upgraded by a previous owner to more powerful units from a BMW 320, and the 318 turbine wheels wear almost new Yokohoma tires.
The interior sports a Momo steering wheel and comfortable tan cloth seats from a 1998 Acura Integra (the stock brown vinyl seats are included). The windshield was freshly replaced, but the carpets are showing some wear - new floor mats are probably all that is needed.
There are a few areas that need attention on the car. Most importantly there is a pull to the left. After an alignment the tech told me something was bent, but he didn't look to see what. The pulling never bothered me much so I never investigated any further than that. The choke is not working on the carb, the horn won't sound, and the high beam headlight switch needs replaced (parking lights work but headlights don't). I feel, with a very minor outlay, this could be a wonderful daily driver for someone. Thanks for looking.
I'm asking $3,750 / OBO
