Default VSS Compatibility Question - GSR

2000 Civic EX w/ 2000 B18C1

My speedometer stopped working about two weeks ago after the VSS fell victim to some water damage from driving through some harsh rain/flooded roads (or so I think because that's when it started). A CEL comes on every time I drive a few miles.

Now, I am in search for an alternative part. Since I'm not very experienced in this particular area, I decided it'd be easier to swap out the whole part instead of just the electronic attachment which I understand could be the more logical choice.

My question:
Will these parts from ebay listed as part #78410S04901 fit properly into a 2000 Integra GSR transmission?

There seems to be even cheaper versions, but most of them seem to be designated for 2000 Civics and I'd just like to know if these would generally fit with no modification.

The one they have pictured is for a D-series transmission and wont fit. I don't know if they're just using a generic picture or if what you see is what you get.

If what you have is a two piece unit (metal bottom and black plastic top that bolts on) you can just use the top half from a '92 - '95 civic, any model, even the ones from the automatics work. simply unbolt the top half (2 bolts) and bolt the new one up. If you want to replace the whole part get it for a '94 - '01 integra with manual trans.

Bummer. Thank you.
I'll try to check in with the local junk yards before I cut a check for a $100+ part = T

IIRC both the 96+ DOHC and SOHC sensors are the same EXCEPT for the drive shaft and gear. You should be able to pull the retaining clip, swap shaft with gear and put clip back in.

Pics help greatly.

The top half is shaped differently Charles. I'm not sure if it matters though. The B-series version has a huge lump on the top.
