Transmission slipping and jerky
I have 2000 Honda Accord w/ AT has 94K and is slipping from 1st to 2nd gear, VERY jerky at times!
Any suggestions on what to do besides get a new tranny? (I can't afford it....) I read about the sylanoids (Spelling??) being bad, and honda's filter issue... I'm not sure what is wrong w/ my car.
Should I try replacing the fluid w/ Honda ATF?? Also, I heard about Syncromesh fluid, sounded interesting. Has anyone had success just swapping the ATF out?
Will the problem get worse if I just leave it alone??

Re: Transmission slipping and jerky
I recently sold my 2000 Honda Accord (stock and very clean, by the way), because I had this same problem. In fact, my mechanic told me to sell the car because it just gets worse from there. Apparently, Honda had some issues on their Honda during this time, and even if transmission is changed (to another automatic Honda transmission for your model), the transmission will slip again.
You might want to sell it before the transmission goes or change it to a manual.

Yeah, I have a 98 Accord coupe and the tranny is slipping between 2nd & 3rd gear. I'm looking into converting it over to 5spd. I really don't want to sell my car. A paid for car beats a car note any day.... I wish there were my Honda techs here in The Atl who has did the conversion. The few who has, are trying to get me to sell my car for next to nothing.... Im not having that....

Re: Transmission slipping and jerky
common problem with those year transmissions....flushing the fluid is just gonna flush your wallet. you need a transmission replacement.
and good luck finding a good used one...no such thing unless the one you find has been rebuilt by honda to fix the issue.
sell the car or buy a rebuilt trans from the honda dealer.
