Transmission advice
Hey fellas, I'm new here, and as most noobies are, I'm loaded with questions.
I have an '88 CRX SI that has been B16A swapped, with a GSR transmission to boot.
The car is fairly new to me, so I'm working the it's problems day by day.
High on the list is the transmission. It is grinding going into 3rd, and 4th may as well not even be there.
I've been searching the web trying to find another GSR Cable transmission, but it really only seems like I can find used ones, 100k miles, for outrageous prices.
From what I've read, I could also go with a b16 cable trans, which would be okay with me if I could find one for the right price.
So I guess my question is, where do you all find your transmissions, seeing as I can't find any here locally (craigslist)
Also, would it be a good idea to have a transmission shop attempt to rebuild it? I really don't know of anyone in this area who specializes in these, and I'd be awful nervous to take it to just any random transmission shop.
Any advice is helpful. I'm new to Honda's, and truthfully, I don't know much about them.
Thanks for your time

Re: Transmission advice
There is so much information on Honda-Tech regarding gearboxes.
I would suggest pulling it and inspecting/rebuilding your own. It is by far the most cost-effective option.
