Tranny fluid question????
i have an 96 ls. my car was running fine yesterday. this morning when i started my car it was fine. But i noticed that it was a little hard to put it in first. now coming back from work its getting harder to put it in gear. in neutral the clucth seems fine. but its just a lil hard to put it in gear. my friend told me that it could be my tranny fluid, so ima change it and see if that does anything. BUT, he told me to use regular motor oil, like 10w30. its this wat you guys use???

Ive used Honda MTF, Royal Purple 10-30 and Syncromesh... and now in the straighcut box Redline lightweight shockproof gear oil.
LOVED the Syncromesh in my OEM trannys...
But IT sounds more like a clutch issue that your having, not a fluid issue

Dunno if you got it fixed but uhhh.....
Wont hurt ta change tha fluid, in both tha tranny and clutch cyl ! Hydraulic fluid likes to soak up mostiure over time this can in turn cause a slight amount of fluid compression in a hydraulic clutch. If its not a hydraulic and a cable type, check the cable adjustment, the cables stretch over time and need to be corrected depending on driving styles and useage it varries. If its adjusted to the max replace the cable... if that doesnt fix it check your pedal, I had a simalar issue with (dare I say) my Nissan... If that doesnt fix it and you dont know how to Diagnose Tranny Troubles take it to the shop.
And yes it can just start to happen, Clutch wear can also be the troble! Most likley not the fluid though!
Good Luck Bro!
