Shift linkage loose on shift selector shaft
Hey guys, I've got a bit of a problem here! I have a Hasport shift linkage for my B16/EF and am looking to tighten up the shifter feel. Already replaced all bushings, and got the linkage rebuild kit from hasport, all that helped a ton!
Now it seems the last bit of slop is coming from where the linkage slides over the transmissions shift selector shaft. Even with a brand new OEM roll pin (bitch pin), the linkage still has some play on the shaft. It seems it was either made to a loose tolerance, or has been wallowed out over the years. Now since I had to drill out the linkage's rivets to replace the bushings, they are just held together with bolts (makes dropping the tranny a breeze!). I was thinking of just replacing the very end of the linkage with an OEM one off a junk car or something. Does anyone have any other ideas?
Thanks!
